BEFORE

Open-mindedness and consideration are the key tenets of collaboration.

After experiencing frustration with their previous architect, our client sought us out, drawn by our reputation for open-mindedness and attentiveness to their vision. Collaborating closely, we dedicated ourselves to realising their dream of a spacious kitchen and dining area that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure. Inspired by the historical charm of the original building, we embarked on a design journey to harmoniously blend the old with the new.

AFTER

We achieved a delicate balance between preserving heritage and embracing modern innovation.

In our approach, we aimed for a delicate balance, incorporating elements of the original stone and wheat brick to honour the building's heritage while infusing modern touches like black cladding for a subtle yet striking contrast. The addition of the oriel window not only enhances the exterior aesthetics but also injects a sense of intrigue, while the frameless glass box offers serene vistas of the lush garden, inviting tranquility into the living space.

Turning our attention inward, we made a conscious decision to leave the oak roof joists exposed, not only for their structural significance but also for the warmth and rhythm they impart to the interior ambiance. This thoughtful detail not only pays homage to the building's craftsmanship but also creates a welcoming atmosphere that resonates throughout the home.
